International Studies Undergraduate Program

International StudiesDevelop a worldwide perspective via the study of the economic, cultural, political and historical factors that form international systems. Our curriculum cultivates abilities which can be translatable throughout continents and cultures, and provides undergraduate students with the necessary background in global affairs and intercultural communications, in addition to profession-focused concentrations.

Worldwide Studies is a multi-disciplinary diploma program that allows students to explore world cultures and themes of global significance from such disciplines as history, anthropology, economics, geography, literature, religious studies, world languages, the humanities and artwork historical past.

For completion of a minor, a pupil should have a minimum general cumulative grade level average of 2.00 in all programs required for the minor unique of lower-stage courses and prerequisite programs and complete a minimum of six hours in upper-level courses within the minor requirement via programs supplied by Previous Dominion University.

In this case college students must combine an area research main (African Research, East Asian Research, Latin American Research, Middle East Research, Slavic & East European Studies or West European Research) with a world affairs main (Improvement Research, Globalization Research, International Relations & Diplomacy, Security & Intelligence, or World Economy & Business).

Finally, college students choose to develop experience in considered one of four world affairs focus areas” – worldwide politics, governance, and safety; culture and globalization; international enterprise, economics, and development; and global health and sustainability – or in a regional focus space” requiring coursework specializing in, and their semester overseas in, Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, or the Center East.
